SundayPeople departing Sydney will board the 7:05 XPT & arrive in Grafton at 5:00pm. The Countrylink Coach will transport you to Yamba. Please ensure you book to Yamba when making your rail booking. We suggest people departing Brisbane contact us for coach departure times. We meet the coach in Maclean. On arrival we will settle you in your unit where you may freshen up before dinner.
MondayDepart the Motel at 9:00am and tour the beaches and township before boarding the ferry to Iluka. This pleasant cruise past the marina and prawning fleet is scenic & informative. The coach will meet the ferry then tour the Iluka area. We take a look at the Clarence River Fisherman's Co-op, have morning tea on the rivers edge then take a walk in the World Heritage Rain Forest, one of the rarest in Australia. On our way to the Ostrich farm we drive through the sugar cane farms on historic Chatsworth Island. After a tour of the farm, a barbecue lunch with fresh salads and fruit will be served at the dam. We will return to Yamba via Harwood Island arriving about 3:00pm.
TuesdayDepart the motel at 8:30am for Ballina. First stop today is the Naval Museum and morning tea by the Richmond river. We take a look around Ballina Island, (not many people realise Ballina is actually built on an Island) visit the new resort area and then move on to Thursday Plantation. Take a guided tour through the tea tree oil production plant and education centre. After this we head back to beautiful Evans Head, this beachside township on the mouth of the Evans River has some great scenery and a lot to offer the holiday maker. We will have lunch at the RSL Club before touring around the area. On our way home we will stop at New Italy for an ice cream then head back to Yamba 30 minutes away, arriving at approximately 3:00pm.
WednesdayThis morning we are going to a special place called "Squatters Rest", our visitors constantly tell us the venue is one of the best they have been to. We will have a guided tour around this turn of the century property. Vintage farm machinery and antiques have been faithfully restored to their original pristine condition. There is nothing new on the property including the owners turn of the century house.  We will be treated to morning tea with the bushman's bread and entertained with the singing and bush poetry around the pinola. Occasionally we will be lucky enough to meet other bush poets who share their talents with us. On our way to Grafton we will go through historic Ulmarra. You will have time in Grafton to attend to any personal business, do a little souvenir shopping and after lunch we will take a look around Grafton before heading home the back way through Lawrence, across the river on the punt, through the sugar cane farms on Woodford Island & Maclean arriving back in Yamba at around 3:00pm.
ThursdayAt 8:45am we head off to Angourie 10 minutes away. We will take a look at the blue pools, carved out of solid rock 75 metres from the ocean & full of fresh water. Angourie is known as one of the best surfing spots in the world & is surrounded by water & national park. We move on to Lake Wooloweyah, one of the major fish & prawn breeding grounds on the coast.  Next stop is Gormans Oysters where we meet some locals and learn some interesting facts about oysters. Morning tea is at the Maclean lookout. Enjoy it while taking in the spectacular scenery. We move on to the arts & crafts centre at Ferry Park, then onto beautiful Brooms Head and the Sandon River. This beautiful river is surrounded by national park and has the cleanest water on the coast. We will have King Prawns & other treats for lunch at the river before heading back to Yamba arriving about 2:30pm.
FridayThose people travelling by train will be picked up by the Countrylink Coach at 10:00am.
